Autumn's here!
Glorious sunshine yesterday; we got the slabs laid on a dry mix using the rope and it worked well. Dawn put a dose of colouring on the summerhouse decking last evening and is hoping to get the main area treated today, after I've done a bit of trim and fixed trellis on the new wall. There is still the bench seating/table to be made, but that's an inside job for a rainy day.
Next project is a greenhouse; laying a base is not going to be straight forward cos of the sloping ground, but we'll make a start today.

Another bonny start to the day - we're going to suffer for this later!
Went to see the physio yesterday and, after a bit of pulling and bending, he said "come on we'll go to the gym now", gulp. Anyone who has met me knows that I'm not a "gym shaped" person; he had me sliding up and down walls with a beachball behind me, stepping up and down off a bench, balancing on a little platform and for the finale I was stuck on a walking type machine - I think it was called a cross dresser. I've now been enrolled in a weekly "gym club" for people with similar problems, so look out Swarzenegro or whatever his name is.
The greenhouse has been ordered and is coming straight from the manufacturers, so delivery times are a bit vague. I've been making the planters, while head of decorating has been painting the decking, fencing, snails, spiders and anything else that is not quick enough to get out of the way. If you see any reports of deadly red knee spiders being seen in the west country, worry not, it's probably one of Dawn's creations.

Where to start! Wifi signal has been very poor for the last few days, I reckon someone's turned the gas down.
Dawn took the car for MOT yesterday and they found a leaking brake pipe, so Julie gave her a lift home and we pick the car up tomorrow. This morning I had my hot tub appt at 09.00 in Exeter and a friend gave us a lift in (to Exeter, not the pool); we came home by bus and taxi, bugger the expense.
The greenhouse was delivered yesterday and, on our return today, it was decided that we would lay the slabs for the base; to give you an idea of the slope, we have used three barrow loads of dry mix for 3 slabs, with the first at ground level and the last about 5" off the ground. The next and last slab that side will need an even deeper layer, so we will tackle that tomorrow, after these have set off a bit.
We have had scorching sun all day with similar forecast for the next few days.
How did the weekend go Barry; fancy leaving that poor girl home alone!

Luverly drop of weather over the last week. Signal here has been very iffy, so apologies for the gaps.
We got the car back, which was good cos I had my first session at the gym (never thought I'd ever say that!); it was OK and I've got weekly appts there now.
The greenhouse base is finally finished, but those 3'x2' slabs were a bit of a challenge; head of screeding filled the remaining space with concrete to form the path. To give some drainage we let a flowerpot full of stones into the concrete which we can remove later and fill with gravel; Dawn said it looks as if we've done it for a loo!

Got a signal again, so here's a brief update:-
I managed to get it up, with a lot of huffing and puffing and some help and encouragement from Dawn. The next job was to make the staging, for which we needed more timber; head of logistics nipped into Exeter in her truck, but unfortunately misjudged the loading and sent a 3"x2" through the windscreen. A new windscreen was fitted Monday morning! We've now got the staging made and fitted so that's another job ticked off t'list.
We've accepted an offer on the boat and it is being surveyed next week, so fingers crossed. If all goes well, we will have to start looking for a wee van or we'll go mad cooped up all winter.
